Landscaping: Pruning Tools
Secateurs are used to handle small jobs such as tip pruning and small limb removal of shrubs. Many different types and sizes of secateurs available. They have either cross cut scissor or anvil cutting action. Long handled secateurs are used for cutting thicker branches, more leverage with the longer handles. Also to reach to higher branches with adjustable extension handles The pruning saw is used for thick branches. When pruning, always make the cut at an angle, never straight across. Large teeth for quick cutting. Lopping shears are for pruning branches that are out of reach. Similar to secateurs on top of a long pole The Bush or Bow Saw is the next best thing to a hand powered chainsaw. It is often used in conjunction with a chainsaw.
